Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450g) beef strips or sirloin, sliced thin
- 2 cups colorful vegetables (bell peppers, broccoli, snap peas)
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil or sesame oil for stir-frying
- Optional: red pepper flakes for heat
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with 1 tablespoon soy sauce and 1 teaspoon cornstarch. Mix well and set aside for at least 10 minutes.
- Wash and chop your vegetables into bite-sized pieces. Keep them ready for quick cooking.
- In a small bowl, whisk together remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and a splash of water or broth. Set aside.
- Heat a wok or large skillet over high heat. Add vegetable oil, then quickly stir-fry the marinated beef until browned, about 2-3 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- Add more oil if needed. Stir-fry the vegetables for 3-4 minutes until crisp-tender. Add garlic and ginger last minute.
- Return the beef to the pan with vegetables. Pour the sauce over and toss until evenly coated and heated through, about 2 minutes.
Notes
- Keep your pan hot to ensure proper searing.
- You can substitute beef with chicken, shrimp, or tofu.
- Use high-quality soy sauce or experiment with different flavorful sauces for variety.
