Tender beef slices combined with crisp vegetables and a savory sauce create a satisfying meal in under 30 minutes. Ideal for a nutritious, easy-to-make dinner that doesn’t compromise on taste.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) beef strips or sirloin, sliced thin
  • 2 cups colorful vegetables (bell peppers, broccoli, snap peas)
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil or sesame oil for stir-frying
  • Optional: red pepper flakes for heat

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with 1 tablespoon soy sauce and 1 teaspoon cornstarch. Mix well and set aside for at least 10 minutes.
  2. Wash and chop your vegetables into bite-sized pieces. Keep them ready for quick cooking.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and a splash of water or broth. Set aside.
  4. Heat a wok or large skillet over high heat. Add vegetable oil, then quickly stir-fry the marinated beef until browned, about 2-3 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  5. Add more oil if needed. Stir-fry the vegetables for 3-4 minutes until crisp-tender. Add garlic and ginger last minute.
  6. Return the beef to the pan with vegetables. Pour the sauce over and toss until evenly coated and heated through, about 2 minutes.

Notes

  • Keep your pan hot to ensure proper searing.
  • You can substitute beef with chicken, shrimp, or tofu.
  • Use high-quality soy sauce or experiment with different flavorful sauces for variety.
