- 1 pound ground beef or sausage
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 4 cups beef or vegetable broth
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 8 lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef or sausage in a skillet; drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until fragrant.
- Transfer to crockpot and add crushed tomatoes, broth, basil, and oregano.
- Stir in broken lasagna noodles.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
- Before serving, stir in ricotta cheese and top with shredded mozzarella.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves and serve hot.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for beef.
- For a vegetarian version, use vegetable broth and add your favorite vegetables.
