  • 1 pound ground beef or sausage
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 4 cups beef or vegetable broth
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 8 lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef or sausage in a skillet; drain excess fat.
  2. Add chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until fragrant.
  3. Transfer to crockpot and add crushed tomatoes, broth, basil, and oregano.
  4. Stir in broken lasagna noodles.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  6. Before serving, stir in ricotta cheese and top with shredded mozzarella.
