Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large apples (Granny Smith or Fuji), peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Additional cinnamon and sugar for coating
- Cooking spray or oil for spraying
Instructions
- Peel, core, and slice the apples into thin, even pieces. Toss with a little cinnamon and sugar if desired.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, combine milk, egg, and vanilla extract. Gradually add to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
- Dip each apple slice into the batter, ensuring it’s well coated. Shake off excess batter gently.
- Preheat the Ninja Air Fryer to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
- Place the coated apple slices in a single layer inside the basket, avoiding overcrowding. Cook for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
- Remove from the air fryer, toss with cinnamon and sugar or drizzle with honey, and serve warm.
Notes
- Best enjoyed fresh and warm for optimal crispiness.
- Can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for a few minutes to restore crispness.
- For a vegan version, substitute the milk with plant-based milk and replace the egg with a flaxseed or chia seed egg.
