  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large apples (Granny Smith or Fuji), peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Additional cinnamon and sugar for coating
  • Cooking spray or oil for spraying

Instructions

  1. Peel, core, and slice the apples into thin, even pieces. Toss with a little cinnamon and sugar if desired.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine milk, egg, and vanilla extract. Gradually add to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
  4. Dip each apple slice into the batter, ensuring it’s well coated. Shake off excess batter gently.
  5. Preheat the Ninja Air Fryer to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
  6. Place the coated apple slices in a single layer inside the basket, avoiding overcrowding. Cook for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  7. Remove from the air fryer, toss with cinnamon and sugar or drizzle with honey, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Best enjoyed fresh and warm for optimal crispiness.
  • Can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for a few minutes to restore crispness.
  • For a vegan version, substitute the milk with plant-based milk and replace the egg with a flaxseed or chia seed egg.
