Ingredients
- 8 oz (225g) of your favorite pasta (penne, fusilli, or spaghetti)
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced thin
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce or tamari
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- Fresh parsley or basil for garnish
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season the sliced chicken with a pinch of salt and black pepper. Cook until golden and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, coating it with the sauce. Add the cooked pasta and toss to combine. Heat through for 2 minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley or basil before serving.
Notes
- Adjust honey and pepper levels to suit your taste preferences.
- Marvel at the flavors by marinating chicken in soy and honey for 15 minutes beforehand.
- For extra heat, increase red pepper flakes or add hot sauce.
- Ensure pasta is cooked al dente to prevent mushiness upon reheating.
