- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 1/2 cups orzo pasta
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Cook orzo according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic; cook until translucent, about 3 minutes.
- Stir in diced tomatoes and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Add heavy cream, salt, and pepper. Simmer until sauce thickens slightly, about 5 minutes.
- Mix in cooked orzo until well coated with the sauce.
- Garnish with fresh basil and serve hot.
Notes
- Feel free to add grated Parmesan cheese for extra flavor.
- This dish pairs well with a side of garlic bread or a fresh salad.
