Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup cinnamon sugar (for coating)
- Optional: melted chocolate or caramel sauce for dipping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Remove from heat and add flour all at once, stirring vigorously until a smooth dough forms. Let it cool slightly.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
- Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Pipe small finger-sized or bite-sized pieces onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and slightly crispy. Remove from oven and while still warm, toss the churro bites in cinnamon sugar to coat evenly.
- Optional: drizzle with melted chocolate or caramel sauce before serving for extra indulgence.
Notes
- Ensure the dough is cooled slightly before adding eggs to prevent curdling.
- Use a large star piping tip for authentic churro ridges.
- For extra crispiness, reheat in an air fryer or oven before serving.
- Can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days at room temperature.
