Ingredients
Scale
- 4 large apples (Fuji, Honeycrisp, or Gala)
- 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs or crushed cereal for extra crunch
- Optional: powdered sugar and caramel sauce for drizzling
Instructions
- Wash and peel the apples. Cut each into thin, fry-shaped sticks about 1/4 inch thick.
- Mix the granulated sugar with the ground cinnamon in a small bowl. Toss apple slices in the mixture until coated, then set aside.
- Prepare three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten egg, and one with panko breadcrumbs.
- Dip each apple stick into the flour, then the egg, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
- Preheat the Ninja Air Fryer to 400°F (200°C). Place the coated apple fries in a single layer in the basket, avoiding overcrowding.
- Cook for 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve immediately, optionally dusted with powdered sugar or drizzled with caramel sauce. Enjoy warm with your favorite toppings!
Notes
- Choose firm apples like Fuji or Honeycrisp for best texture.
- Cut evenly for uniform cooking.
- Enhance flavor by adding nutmeg or allspice to the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Experiment with breading options such as crushed graham crackers or cereal bits for variety.
