Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine sugar and water over medium heat. Stir until sugar dissolves, then cook without stirring until amber-colored.
- Carefully add heavy cream and butter; stir until smooth. Remove from heat.
- Add vanilla extract and salt; mix well. Pour into a heatproof dish to cool and thicken.

- Stir carefully when adding cream to prevent splattering.
