Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
- Mash the ripe bananas in a large mixing bowl until smooth. Mix in melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gently fold into the wet mixture without overmixing.
- Fold in chocolate chips evenly throughout the batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- Use very ripe bananas for maximum moisture and flavor.
- Do not overmix the batter to keep the bread moist and tender.
- Optional: substitute nuts such as walnuts or pecans for added crunch.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
