This Korean beef stir fry features thinly sliced beef cooked to perfection in a savory sauce, complemented by colorful vegetables for a balanced and delicious meal.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) thinly sliced beef sirloin or ribeye
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
  • Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, marinate the sliced beef with soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add beef to the pan and stir-fry until browned and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add bell peppers, broccoli, and carrots to the pan and stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes until vegetables are tender but crisp.
  5. Pour in the cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce and toss everything together until well coated.
  6. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Serve hot with steamed rice.

Notes

  • Adjust the spice level by adding red pepper flakes or sliced chili peppers.
  • Marinate the beef for more flavor; longer marination enhances tenderness.
  • Serve over jasmine rice or noodles for a complete meal.
