- 1 large head of cabbage
- 1 pound ground beef or turkey
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can tomato sauce (15 oz)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Blanch cabbage leaves in boiling water for 2-3 minutes until soft. Drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté onion and garlic until translucent.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground meat, cooked rice, sautéed onions, salt, and pepper.
- Place a spoonful of filling onto each cabbage leaf and roll tightly.
- Pour tomato sauce into a baking dish and arrange cabbage rolls on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 35-40 minutes until cooked through.
Notes
- Feel free to add herbs like parsley or dill for extra flavor.
- Can be made ahead and refrigerated before baking.
