- 1 pack wonton wrappers
- 1/2 pound ground pork or chicken (optional for filling)
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups water
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley or cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the filling by mixing ground meat (if using), garlic, soy sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Place a small spoonful of filling in each wonton wrapper and seal edges tightly.
- Bring chicken broth and water to a boil in a large pot.
- Add wontons to the boiling broth and cook for 4-5 minutes until they float and are cooked through.
- Stir in sesame oil and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions and herbs.
Notes
You can substitute ground chicken or make vegetarian wontons with chopped mushrooms and cabbage. For extra flavor, add a splash of rice vinegar or hot sauce.
