- 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced
- 12 ounces penne pasta
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sausage slices and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté onion and bell pepper until tender. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Stir in Cajun seasoning, heavy cream, and chicken broth. Bring to a simmer.
- Add cooked sausage and pasta to the skillet. Stir well and cook until pasta is al dente, about 10 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- Adjust Cajun seasoning for desired spice level.
- For a lighter version, use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
- Serve hot with crusty bread or a side salad.
