Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon Instant yeast
- ½ cup warm milk
- ¼ cup sugar
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 6 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
- ½ cup maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Optional: chopped walnuts or pecans for topping
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until bubbly. Add melted butter, eggs, and salt. Gradually stir in flour until a soft dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for 1 hour or until doubled.
- Mix cinnamon with 2 tablespoons of maple syrup. Roll dough into a 16×10 inch rectangle. Spread remaining maple syrup over dough, sprinkle cinnamon mixture, and distribute crumbled bacon evenly.
- Starting from the long edge, roll up tightly into a log. Cut into 12 slices. Place slices into a greased baking dish with space in between.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cover rolls with a damp towel and let rise for 20 minutes. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden. Drizzle with extra maple syrup or glaze if desired.
Notes
- Use high-quality maple syrup for richer flavor.
- For extra crunch, sprinkle additional bacon crumbles before baking.
- Allow rolls to cool slightly before glazing to prevent melting.
- Enhance flavor with a splash of bourbon in the glaze for bourbon cinnamon rolls.
