Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ribeye steaks or preferred cut
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- Fresh rosemary or thyme sprigs
Instructions
- Season the steaks generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or adjust cooking time as desired. Add garlic and herbs during the last minute.
- Reduce heat to low, add butter to the skillet, and spoon melted butter over the steaks to enhance flavor.
- Remove the steaks and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve with the butter sauce spooned over the top.
Notes
- Ensure the skillet is hot enough to get a good sear. Do not crowd the pan.
- Use fresh herbs for aromatic flavor.
- Resting the steak helps retain juices for maximum tenderness.
