- 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 4 cups beef or vegetable broth
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 8 ounces lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- In a skillet, cook ground beef or sausage until browned. Transfer to the crockpot.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the crockpot with the meat.
- Pour in crushed tomatoes and broth, then stir in oregano and basil.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
- Add broken lasagna noodles during the last 30 minutes and cook until tender.
- Stir in mozzarella cheese just before serving. Garnish with Parmesan and fresh basil.
Notes
- Feel free to add spinach or mushrooms for extra veggies.
- Adjust the spice level with red pepper flakes.
- Use gluten-free noodles to make it gluten-free.
