- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed light-brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda.
- In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Gradually mix in the flour mixture until just combined.
- Stir in chocolate chips.
- Scoop dough and shape into heart forms or roll out and cut into heart shapes with cookie cutters.
- Place cookies on prepared baking sheets and bake for 9-11 minutes until golden edges.
- Allow cookies to cool on wire racks before serving.
Notes
- For best results, use fresh ingredients and soft butter.
- Chill dough if shaping into hearts becomes difficult.
- Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week.
