- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
- Dredge chicken in flour, dip in beaten eggs, then coat with breadcrumb mixture combined with Parmesan cheese.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet and sear chicken until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Transfer seared chicken to a baking dish, spoon marinara sauce over each piece, and top with shredded mozzarella.
- Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add crushed red pepper flakes to the breadcrumb mixture.
- Serve over spaghetti or your favorite pasta for a complete meal.
