Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large apples (preferably Fuji or Honeycrisp)
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil or melted butter
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Pink or red edible sprinkles for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Wash and peel the apples, then core and cut them into thick sticks or fries.
- In a small bowl, mix granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In a separate bowl, combine lemon juice with melted coconut oil or butter.
- Toss the apple sticks in the lemon mixture, then coat them with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3 minutes.
- Arrange the coated apple sticks in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Cook for 10-12 minutes, shaking halfway through for even crispiness.
- Remove from the air fryer, sprinkle with edible sprinkles or additional cinnamon sugar if desired, and serve immediately.
Notes
- Use firm, sweet apples like Fuji or Honeycrisp for best results.
- Can substitute sugar with honey or maple syrup for a healthier option.
- Best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container and reheated to regain crispiness.
- For a dairy-free version, use coconut oil instead of butter.
