A hearty and easy cabbage roll dish made with seasoned ground beef and rice, wrapped in tender cabbage leaves and baked to perfection.

Ingredients

  • 1 large head of cabbage
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Core the cabbage and boil in water until leaves are tender, about 5 minutes. Drain and separate leaves.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil, sauté onion and garlic until translucent.
  4. In a bowl, combine ground beef, cooked rice, sautéed onion and garlic, salt, and pepper.
  5. Place a spoonful of mixture onto each cabbage leaf, roll tightly, and place in a baking dish.
  6. Pour tomato sauce over the rolls and cover with foil.
  7. Bake for 40 minutes until cooked through and sauce is bubbly.
