  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for coating)
  • Chocolate sauce (optional, for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, salt, and vanilla; bring to a boil.
  3. Add flour all at once and stir vigorously until mixture pulls away from the sides of the pan.
  4. Let the dough cool slightly, then transfer to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
  5. Pipe small 2-inch strips onto the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Meanwhile, mix granulated sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
  8. Once baked, immediately roll the churro bites in cinnamon sugar or spray with cooking spray and toss in the mixture.
