- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch square baking dish.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Let it cool slightly.
- In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
- Stir in vanilla extract and cocoa powder until smooth.
- Gradually fold in flour, baking powder, and salt until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips if using.
- Pour batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
- Cool before cutting and serving.
Notes
- For extra richness, add a handful of chocolate chunks.
