- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1 large egg yolk
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda.
- In a separate large bowl, mix melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Add the egg and egg yolk, beating until well combined.
- Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until edges are golden and centers are soft.
- Allow cookies to cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- For chewier cookies, slightly underbake and store at room temperature.
- You can add chopped nuts for extra crunch.
