- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 8 oz pasta (penne or spaghetti)
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh basil, chopped
- Grated Parmesan cheese for serving
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Pour in crushed tomatoes, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
- Add the pasta and cook, stirring occasionally, until al dente, about 10 minutes.
- Stir in heavy cream and cook for another 2 minutes until sauce thickens.
- Remove from heat, garnish with fresh basil and Parmesan cheese, and serve hot.
Notes
- You can add cooked chicken or shrimp for added protein.
- Use gluten-free pasta to make it gluten-free.
- Add a dash of hot sauce for extra spice.
