- 4 large russet potatoes, diced
- 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup ranch dressing
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup chopped green onions
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional toppings: cooked bacon, more cheese, fresh herbs
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Toss diced potatoes with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Spread in a baking dish and bake for 20 minutes.
- Sauté sliced smoked sausage in a skillet until browned. Set aside.
- Mix ranch dressing, sour cream, minced garlic, and half of the cheddar cheese until smooth.
- Layer partially cooked potatoes in the baking dish, then add smoked sausage on top. Pour ranch cheese mixture evenly over the layer. Sprinkle remaining cheese and green onions.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden. Optional: broil for 2-3 minutes for a crispy top.

- You can substitute the smoked sausage with pork, turkey, or chicken sausage.
