- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Monterey Jack)
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and garlic, sauté until translucent.
- Add ground beef, paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned. Remove from heat.
- Lightly grease a baking dish. Layer sliced potatoes at the bottom.
- Spread the cooked beef mixture over the potatoes.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is golden and bubbly.
Notes
- Feel free to add diced bell peppers or mushrooms for extra flavor.
- Use leftover cooked potatoes for quicker preparation.
