Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Monterey Jack)
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and garlic, sauté until translucent.
  3. Add ground beef, paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook until browned. Remove from heat.
  4. Lightly grease a baking dish. Layer sliced potatoes at the bottom.
  5. Spread the cooked beef mixture over the potatoes.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly on top.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes.
  8. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is golden and bubbly.
