Perfect for parties, snacks, or a sweet treat, this recipe combines rich flavors with a satisfying crunch, all done without deep frying for a guilt-free indulgence.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 20-25 bite-sized churros

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup of water
  • 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • Extra cinnamon sugar for coating
  • Cooking spray or parchment paper

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, salt, and vanilla extract. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in flour until smooth. Let cool slightly.
  2. Transfer the dough to a mixing bowl. Beat in eggs one at a time until batter is smooth and glossy.
  3. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or spray with cooking spray. Fill a piping bag fitted with a large star tip with the dough.
  4. Pipe bite-sized churro shapes onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden and crispy.
  5. While warm, toss the baked churros in cinnamon sugar to coat evenly.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a touch of nutmeg or allspice to the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  • Make sure to cool the dough slightly before piping to prevent it from tearing.
  • Use a star tip for authentic churro texture and appearance.
